This team leader role will work with a dedicated team to oversee the productivity and robustness improvements for all the Zoneline products. What you will Do
Function as a team leader responsible for executing CoQ and MCTO projects from start to finish.
Own engineering responsibility for current production platforms including Zoneline accessories.
Guide in-house and SFG manufacturers on fundamental problem solving techniques, engineering principles, and project management skills.
Help guide technology roadmap development and execution around critical technologies necessary for a competitive advantage within the industry.
Develop “5-year” plan for Growth Play Book
Create and/or modify drawings and release associated BOMs.
Work closely with the manufacturing and commercial teams from product concept to production implementation.
Develop and evaluate multiple design concepts with the use of engineering analysis, rapid prototyping techniques, and general hands-on skills.
Test and evaluate competitor models to identify best practices in design, manufacturing, and performance.
Utilize CREO to perform component and subsystem design reviews.
Work with multiple suppliers to ensure proper material selection as well as process applicability.
Utilize statistical tools to ensure robust design in high volume manufacturing and assembly application.
Develop/utilize engineering and reliability labs skills to innovate and test new designs.
Travel will be required.
Qualifications / Requirements
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of component or subsystem design experience in commercial products related industry.
Experience with 3rd party agencies UL, AHRI, CEC, and NRCan.
Experience with sealed system design and evaluation.
Experience designing and testing plastic and/or metal parts.
Experience with design system interactions and interfaces.
Fluent use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software packages.
Solid written and oral communication skills.
Excellent project management skills
Ability to provide coaching and mentoring
Ability to travel up to 20%, domestically and internationally.
What you need to Succeed
MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge of Commercial AC Industry performance evaluation methods.
Ability to design, build, and execute a test plan and clearly present data to a diverse group and openly debate technical issues
Solid understanding of tooling design for part design optimization.
Proficient in lab view, PLC programming, or other control development package.
Experience with design concept development through rapid prototyping techniques.
Experience mentoring less experienced engineers to build technical capabilities.
Ability to quickly frame up a problem by developing a test set up with instrumentation, developing and running experiments, and providing recommendations.
Ability to work multiple design options in parallel and use engineering logic to narrow selection to optimum design.
Use statistical tools to identify real and meaningful changes in performance.
Resourceful laboratory and shop skills.
