The Challenge

This position plays a critical role in supporting growth and building the company’s reputation through the creation and execution of strategic, cost-effective meetings & events that express the company’s customer focus, brand superiority and industry leadership.

The Senior Specialist, Meetings & Events will be responsible for planning and executing a variety mid-size and large national and international projects from Industry Tradeshows (i.e., CES and KBIS/IBS), Leadership Meetings, Customer Hospitality Programs (i.e., Kentucky Derby), Incentive Trips, Sales Meetings and more for internal and external audiences.

What you will Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and execute event logistics and production from conception to completion for Tier 2 and Tier 3 programs with budgets up to $300,000.

  • Work in conjunction with Senior Manager, Meetings & Events on Tier 1 programs with budgets greater than $300,000.

  • Ensure event goals and objectives are met and all events exceed operational standards, on-schedule, and within budget.

  • Manage vendors, suppliers, contractors, staff; liaise with hotels, production companies, transportation vendors, décor companies, and other external partners.

  • Manage hotel & venue sourcing and selection.

  • Negotiate terms & contracts with vendors/ suppliers.

  • Create and manage event communications.

  • Perform budget management and tracking.

  • Develop detailed event flow for every event.

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5+ years of Event Management experience.

  • Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and must be able to work well under pressure.

  • A team player with positive outlook and strategic thinking capabilities.

  • Creative thinker and innovative spirit.

  • Must be highly customer service focused.

  • Meticulous organization skills and concise and effective verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective.

  • Ability to travel and work outside of normal office hours.

  • Ability to learn new software applications with ease.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree in hospitality field.

  • Corporate events management experience.

  • Experience with event registration systems (Cvent).
