Senior Electronics Engineer - COQ, Cooking Products
The Electronics Engineer will have total ownership of the quality of the electrical/electronic subsystems of our cooking products. Work with Business Leaders to define quarterly goals and focus areas. Identify quality improvements and drive design changes through our Change implementation board process.
What you will Do
Overall oversight and coordination of issue identification, root cause analysis and resolution of field issues, line rejects and CM returns to achieve cost, quality and reliability targets.
Review external and internal data for leading indicators to initiate and implement countermeasure projects to ensure containment and resolution.
Analyze data from connected products and service’s NewFI tool to Identify improvements to how we parse/format data to better identify areas of opportunity. Work with the connected team to implement changes to the tools to generate the needed automated reports.
Identify opportunities in data improvements needed from the appliance side and work with the software and systems team to drive changes.
Interface with the SQE team. Ensure supplier issues are being addressed and followed up on. For supplier changes, ensure the change control process adherence and assess overall readiness for the supplier change.
Interface with the site Autopsy lab. Provide technology support for testing information, procedures, and jigs/fixtures.
Be proactive in technical reviews of new products being developed to ensure lessons learned from existing products is carried over to new designs. Candidate must be able to have detailed understanding of design decision. A mix of hardware, software and system level skills is necessary.
Network with other Quality Subsystem Engineers to accelerate best practice sharing across sites.
Travel one week per month is required to our Roper Manufacturing site in LaFayette, Georgia and twice a year to our Leiser Manufacturing site in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. On-site visits will entail process improvements, failure analysis and support of our autopsy root cause analysis process.
BS or better in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of quality, design or other relevant experience.
Proven analog and digital hardware design capability.
Strong electronic hardware design experience and good understanding of firmware/software development processes.
Demonstrated project planning and project leadership skills and experience.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team oriented environment.
Demonstrated initiative, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Self-Starter. Data driven decision maker
Ability to travel
What you need to Succeed
Experience in working with global design teams.
Experience using Six Sigma and reliability engineering methodology to prove and implement electronic control designs.
