The Challenge

The Security & Crisis Management Compliance and Investigations Manager will provide business level support and will work with the Business Security Director (BSD) and cross functional teams to ensure compliance throughout the GE Appliances business portfolio as it relates to SCM policies, procedures and programs (i.e. Physical Security – Asset Protection & Loss Prevention, Emergency Preparedness & Response, Crisis Management, Workplace Violence Prevention, Investigations, Special Events and Travel Security.)

What you will Do

Investigations (50% Global)

  • Lead or support cross-functional teams investigating violations of GEA policy or law involving a loss of or damage to GEA assets (i.e. people, property, information, brands)

  • Provide incident response as needed with on call availability 24/7 (with the exception of approved time off where a back-up has been identified)

  • Drive progress, conduct root cause analysis, identify/assign corrective actions, highlight trends and track to closure

  • Work with and liaison with federal, state, & local law enforcement as needed to support internal and external investigations

  • Prepare business level report out presentations for the BSD and Executive Leadership as needed; Quarterly Investigations Business Meeting

  • Provide guidance to Contract Security personnel assisting in investigations as needed

  • Complete supporting documentation; ensure security incidents and investigations are documented in SCM systems

Physical Security (10% All Sites; Global every 3-5 yrs)

  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of GEA sites as requested

  • Review and audit physical security policies and procedures at GEA sites to verify compliance and ensure continuous process improvement

  • Create/implement new physical security protocols/procedures as needed

  • Ensure end user training occurs related to physical security policies and procedures

  • Identify and assign corrective actions associated with site visits or calls; track to closure using SCM systems

  • Upload and maintain site records in SCM systems

Crisis Preparedness & Response (30% All Domestic Sites)

  • In collaboration with BSD, ensure completion of required annual drills at all GEA sites (i.e. Evacuation, Take Cover, Workplace Violence, Crisis Management)

  • Partner with Site Security Leaders to create Corrective Action Plans from drills and track to closure

  • Ensure GEA sites have up to date Site Crisis Team rosters and that Site Crisis Teams (SCTs) meet annually to discuss roles and responsibilities

  • Assist the BSD in scheduling and developing annual drills required for the SCTs, LCT and BCMT

  • Assist in developing or updating crisis management tools as needed

  • At the direction of the CTPAT Program Leader, conduct (or ensure completion) CTPAT audits of GEA and business partner sites

  • Identify and assign corrective actions associated with CTPAT audits for GEA manufacturing and receiving sites; report out findings to CTPAT Program Leader and track to closure using SCM systems

  • Work with the Supplier Quality Regulatory Compliance Manager to ensure corrective actions identified for GEA business partners are tracked and managed to resolution

Compliance, Training & Systems Management (10% Global - All Lines of business, all employees)

  • At the direction of the Business Security Director (BSD), conduct training, promote awareness and verify compliance of SCM policies, procedures and programs through site visits, technology solutions, simulation drills and hands on training

  • Assist in developing educational topics for Site Security Leaders; focus on prevention: create awareness/training designed to prevent loss of or damage to company assets

  • Lead/assist with Site Security Leader and Quarterly Site Touch Base meetings

  • Manage SCM data entry systems (Gensuite), lead continuous improvement projects – track and trend data

  • Ensure SSLs are completing annually assigned compliance tasks, track in SCM systems

  • Partner with Business Communications Team to develop annual SCM communications strategy, assist in developing content

What you need to Succeed

Position Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 3 years’ Corporate, law enforcement or military experience conducting investigations

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience conducting physical security, risk and vulnerability assessments and/or equivalent compliance and audit experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ project management experience

  • Strong team player able to collaborate with cross functional personnel at all levels within the Company

  • Change oriented - able to actively generate process improvements; support and drive change; confront difficult circumstances in creative ways

  • Effective Communicator

  • Self-motivated

  • Demonstrated ability to collect and evaluate data/information to make decisions; anticipate obstacles, and develop plans to resolve

  • Ability to work with globally diverse and distributed teams

  • Demonstrated customer/stakeholder focus – evaluate decisions through the eyes of the customer/stakeholder; build strong relationships and create processes with customer/stakeholder viewpoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree, CFE, CPP, PSP, CSPM, CIPS, ALICE Certified

  • Knowledge of Red Flag Indicators as it relates to Workplace Violence Prevention

  • Experience conducting Workplace Violence investigations

  • Experience conducting compliance audits

  • Experience working with Unions

  • Direct or dotted line management experience

  • Familiarity with physical access control software and hardware

  • Familiarity with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Program

Working Conditions:

  • 30% travel required

  • On-call availability
