Security & Crisis Management Business Partner

The Challenge

The Security & Crisis Management (SCM) Business Partner will work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders and partners to ensure physical security procedures, contract security personnel and security technology are best positioned throughout our Louisville portfolio to keep our people and workplaces safe.

Scope: HQ/Appliance Park, The Forum, 1B, and other locations in Louisville when applicable.

What you will Do

Contract Security Oversight: Personnel, Systems, Service Requests and Contract

  • Establish professional and role-specific expectations and KPIs for contract security guard force and associated contract/MSA

  • Manage contract security to KPIs and ensure adherence to negotiated contract; ensure accountability and ongoing process improvement

  • Conduct roles review and personnel assessment to ensure effective resource alignment and professional standards are being met; ensure accountability to role expectations and professional standards

  • Amend/develop job descriptions with clearly defined role descriptions and job expectations; ensure appropriate job qualifications and/or certifications are included; ensure accountability to role expectations

  • Review current officer training topics, areas included and the method of delivery; create proposed training matrix, covering training topics and method of delivery for SCM and stakeholder review

  • Amend/develop and oversee training strategy for officers; validate training and ensure continuous process improvement based on current risk environment

  • Work with Sourcing to create RFP for new contract period when needed; lead coordination of proposal reviews

  • Oversee request, review and ordering of job-related supplies; ensure compliance with payment process

  • Input Purchase Orders (PO’s) for contract security needs and others related to operations

  • Work with finance teams to consider appropriate process, funding cost centers for all purchases, equipment and associated costs

  • Drive progress, identify/assign corrective actions and track to closure any items needed for continued security officer training to aid in response success

  • Create and maintain stakeholder relationships to create a culture of improvement and team success as it relates to contract security performance

  • Ensure sites are receiving the appropriate level of officer interaction, patrol and follow-up

Emergency Preparedness and Incident Response

  • Assist in developing or updating emergency preparedness and response plans/tools as needed for Louisville sites

  • Ensure appropriate and timely response of contract security personnel to events at Louisville sites

  • Ensure ongoing validation of training for emergency events occurs and is documented for contract security personnel

  • Incident Management: ensure contract security support and response events are captured in Gensuite and monitored to timely closure; corrective actions identified, captured, communicated, and assigned in Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and Gensuite; work with SCM Louisville Operations Leader to ensure CAPs worked to closure

  • Provide incident response as needed with on call availability 24/7 (with the exception of approved time off where a back-up has been identified)

  • Working with SCM Team members, support Emergency/Crisis preparedness and response training at AP for Frontline Leaders, SCTs, LCT

  • In collaboration with EHS and SCM team members, support required annual drills (i.e. Evacuation, Take Cover, Workplace Violence, Crisis Management)

  • Partner with the SCM HQ/Operations Leader and cross-functional team members to create CAPs from drills and assist in driving to closure

  • Support contract negotiations and contingency planning as needed

  • Maintain liaison with local emergency personnel and first responders; support quarterly touch bases and tours of Appliance Park scheduled by SCM HQ/Operations Leader

Physical Security: Asset Protection and Loss Prevention

  • Create(amend), implement, and/or audit SCM physical security policies and procedures to support Asset Protection and Loss Prevention for Louisville sites; assets = people, property, information, brands

  • Monitor and ensure operability of access control and asset protection technologies (i.e. badging, cameras, horns, distress alarms) at Appliance Park, Forum and 1B

  • Lead or support design and delivery of continuous improvement projects related to access control and asset protection processes and technology for Louisville sites

  • Ensure end user training occurs related to physical security policies, procedures, technologies

  • Partner with the CTPAT Program Leader, to conduct (or ensure completion) CTPAT training audits of Appliance Park as needed

SCM Awareness, Training and Compliance

  • Working with SCM Team members, support security and crisis preparedness training at all Louisville sites

  • Become certified in ALICE within year one of service (paid for by company) and provide ALICE instruction to Louisville-based employees

  • Assist in developing educational topics for Louisville sites; utilize employee communication mechanisms (i.e. Yammer, Safe Starts, etc.) to push out security-related awareness communications to promote security awareness on general best practices, new procedures, and the great work of contract security force

  • At the direction of the Business Security Director (BSD) or the SCM Louisville HQ/Operations Leader, conduct training, promote awareness and verify compliance of SCM policies, procedures and programs at Appliance Park through technology solutions, simulation drills and hands on training

  • Upload and maintain training records in SCM systems

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (10 years’ experience in fire, police, EMS, hazardous materials, military, corporate security or EHS, a combination thereof, or other hands-on experience may substitute bachelor’s degree)

  • Minimum 5 years’ corporate security or EHS, Emergency Services (Fire/EMS), law enforcement or military required

  • Minimum 5 years’ personnel management experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in emergency preparedness and response

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience conducting physical security, risk and vulnerability assessments and/or equivalent compliance and audit experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ project management experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in training development, delivery and validation of learning

  • Minimum 3 years’ audit, validation of learning experience

  • Experience managing vendor to contract or equivalent experience managing personnel to project expectations

  • Strong team player able to collaborate with cross functional personnel at all levels within the Company

  • Change oriented - able to effectively generate process improvements; support and deliver change; confront difficult circumstances in creative ways

  • Effective Communicator

  • Self-motivated

  • Demonstrated ability to collect and evaluate data/information to make judgments; anticipate obstacles, and develop plans to resolve

  • 24/7 on-call availability for emergency situations (with exception of approved time off)

  • Position located in Louisville, KY

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training certifications, ALICE Certification or completion within a year

  • Knowledge of Red Flag Indicators as it relates to Workplace Violence Prevention

  • Experience working with Unions

  • Familiarity with physical access control systems software and hardware

  • Familiarity with the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) Program

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
