The Challenge

GE Appliances SmartHome Solutions is expanding offerings outside the single-family home. As the IoT Market is growing there is a bigger need to provide connected solutions for multi-family homes, apartment buildings, assisted living, and hospitality. The project manager is responsible for meeting with potential customers, defining the system requirements and closely working with the cloud architects to define solutions that meet the needs of these unique markets.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with potential customers to identify their connected needs

  • Collaborate with leadership team to identify projects and execute those deliverables

  • Work in a cross-functional team to architect full end-to-end connected solutions

  • Work proactively with product management, IDO, and cloud team to drive successful execution

  • Develop technical specifications

  • Create schedules and lead all execution efforts

Requirements

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

  • 7 Years of software leadership experience

  • Experience and strong knowledge of IoT and connected appliances/products

  • Familiarity of RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services

  • Proven ability to respond, adapt and pivot to frequent changes in plans and business strategies

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with varying key stakeholders in multi-functional groups

  • Proven ability to lead projects and effectively work cross-functionally

  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects on a compressed schedule

  • Proven ability to lead a team through root cause and drive corrective actions

  • Strong project planning and project leadership skills and experience

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Must be willing and able to travel as required.

Desired

  • Master’s in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field

  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical skills

  • Experience with formal software development process, such as Agile

  • Experience working with global software development team
