Principal Advanced Systems Engineer – Clothes Care
This Clothes Care Technology Senior Advanced Systems Engineering position will serve as a liaison between GE Appliances (GEA) and the global FirstBuild (1B) locations as well as the Haier Innovation Centers. The position will closely interact with the GEA commercial team and the staff at external sites
What you will Do
Create a strong partnership with 1B (Louisville, Hyderabad, and Shanghai), the Haier Global Innovation Centers (Silicon Valley and Israel), and HOPE.
Work with the GEA Commercial and Technology teams to identify external technologies that fit strongly within the Clothes Care portfolio.
Help guide multi-generational technology development and execution around critical technologies necessary to maintain a competitive advantage within the industry.
Create operating rhythm to effectively share technologies between teams internal and external to GEA.
Develop and evaluate multiple design concepts with the 1B team using engineering analysis, rapid prototyping techniques, community engagement, and general hands-on skills.
Generate Intellectual Property to protect GEA technology.
Qualifications / Requirements
BS degree in Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of experience in product design and technology development.
Excellent oral communication and facilitation skills.
Ability to work at both GEA Louisville Headquarters and 1B Louisville.
Must be willing and able to travel as needed to FirstBuild and Innovation Centers.
Ability to facilitate global conference calls around global working hours.
Fluent use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software packages.

MS degree in Engineering.
Have a passion for innovation and the desire to bring new technologies to market.
Proactive self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and the curiosity and courage to take calculated risks with new technology.
Experience of developing, partnering with, and maintaining relationships with third parties.
Ability to quickly frame up a problem, assess technology, and clearly present data to a diverse group, openly debating commercial and/or technical issues and providing recommendations.
Experience with design concept development through rapid prototyping techniques.
Ability to work multiple design options in parallel and use engineering logic to narrow selection to optimum design.
Resourceful laboratory and shop skills.
Strong background in Intellectual Property (create and analyze).
