The Challenge

The successful candidate will be working in a team environment supporting the GE Appliances payroll processes. We are looking for individuals who embrace collaboration and excellence and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Possess a passion for data integrity, accuracy and STRONG attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet critical deadlines

  • Must be able to take direction from multiple managers

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Respond to clients (Employees, HRMs, Business Leaders, Union, etc.) requests and questions on payroll related matters

  • Assist Payroll Manager in troubleshooting various payroll issues such as missing payments, retro payments, pay rate changes, etc.

  • Work with other members of the Payroll COE to identify and implement process improvements

  • Input payroll adjustments for GE Appliances employees

  • Process and input benefit-related payments such as Emergency Aid, Military pay, etc

  • Assist Payroll manager with Unemployment paperwork – sorting through, responding to requests for data, working with vendor and following up with payroll manager on action items

  • Create adhoc and template Workday reports

  • Run and work audit reports to ensure the highest level of data integrity

  • Act as a backup for Appliance Park pay masters during absences

  • Process Union report for Union officials

  • Assist Payroll Manager with various project work

  • Other clerical and administrative duties as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional administrative role

  • Outstanding customer service and resolution capability

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated analytical ability

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to complete work accurately

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint in Microsoft 2016

  • Experience with web-based applications

  • Flexibility and being an early adopter of change are a must

  • Humble learner

What you need to Succeed

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field

  • 2+ years work experience in payroll

  • Experience using Workday Payroll or other payroll software

  • Previous high-level transaction processing experience
