Marketing Data Governance Manager
The business is in a transformational stage with the management and governance of consumer data with a goal to optimize our database marketing efforts. Understanding our data, managing the inputs, and strategizing the data connections will enable this optimization. This is an individual contributor role is focused on US based consumer data governance and privacy compliance and is within the Digital Marketing organization. The optimal candidate loves to work with data, solve complex problems, and has strong interpersonal skills required to build consensus across cross-functional teams.
What you will Do
Establish a universal standard, process, and repository of data availability and usage best practices in accordance to governance standards, influencing governance where needed
Partner with Marketing, Product, Information/Digital Technology, Marketing and Consumer Operations teams to implement data improvements and deliver quality data to support marketing use cases and measurement
Represent Digital Marketing on the Privacy Tactical Team to execute a privacy program to comply with new regulations including CCPA. This will involve driving continual improvement to reduce effort utilizing technology.
Develop data quality measures for consumer data and continually monitor and improve those metrics
Evolve marketing consent execution and data management
Support business wide Oracle ERP execution including order placement and synchronization of data across web, isolation tiers and master data systems
Execute pilot projects with Marketing and National Advertising teams to develop our database marketing strategy
What you need to Succeed
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a marketing data strategy role, data governance, or privacy compliance.
Experience with standard spreadsheets, databases, and query tools such as: Excel, Tableau, SQL queries, and database marketing concepts.
Proven analytical skills.
Excellent problem‐solving skills and ability to work well cross-functionally and with external partners.
Experience structuring ambiguity into a coherent strategy and plan.
Clear communication skills both written and verbal, with both technical and non-technical teams, superb data visualization skills.
Business acumen with understanding of impact of data models from a business perspective to recommend improved, strategic and sustainable data capabilities.
Prior experience managing data and consumer data privacy projects that require technical development and cross-functional support.
Demonstrated positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Experience with a Data Management Platform (DMP) and with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus
