The Challenge

The Director of Parts Distribution will be a key leader in the GE Appliances (GEA) Supply Chain organization, and work closely with the GEA Parts Micro Enterprise. The Director of Parts Distribution will develop and execute the overall Parts Distribution plan for the multi-site parts distribution warehouse network to achieve world-class excellence for GEA’s Parts Micro Enterprise. The Director of Parts Distribution will report to the GE Appliances Vice President of Supply Chain and report dotted line to the Executive Director of the Parts Micro-Enterprise.

What you will Do

  • Overall leadership and responsibility for further developing the business strategy for Parts Distribution which will drive optimal customer service and profitability.

  • Responsible for the network of Parts Distribution Centers including managing 3rd party relationships, and operation metrics including: safety, quality, cost, availability, delivery, and overall warehouse optimization.

  • Collaborate with all GEA Product Lines including: Refrigeration, Cooking, Laundry, and Dishwasher; Microenterprises, Technology, Sourcing and external suppliers to develop and execute multi-generation, product designs, product plans and new part introductions and the warehousing needs.

  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within guidelines.

  • Support implementation of distribution best practices such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control, demand planning and SKU optimization.

  • Develop all team Parts Distribution team members in their positions. Coach and mentor direct reports toward individual growth and performance.

  • Create and implement action plans that improve operational processes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Engage in long-term business planning for the Parts Micro Enterprise.

  • Partner with manufacturing teams to deliver GEA Parts to all customers including internal and external and ensure overall availability.

  • Own and minimize parts concessions through availability and speed of shipment.

  • Improve connectivity with business-critical areas to improve overall ownership experience

  • Ensure distribution, fulfillment, sales and sourcing stay connected thru the different business cycles. (Promotions, Supplier Issues, etc.)

What you need to Succeed

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum 10 years of Manufacturing, Distribution, Sourcing, Commercial and/or Technology experience.

  • Experience effectively leading a team of direct reports

  • Project management and strong data analytics skills

  • Experience in NPI and knowledgeable of NPI process

  • Must be willing and able to travel to GEA, Supplier & Customer sites as needed.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to set vision and lead change

  • Proven ability to implement sustainable process and gain buy-in from senior business leaders

  • Ability to turn data into analysis and analysis into action

  • Demonstrated success working cross functionally
