Director, Electrical and Electronics Module and Interface COE Leader

The Challenge

Electrical and Electronics module and interface leader is responsible for the execution and development of all key electrical and electronics module technical requirements consistent with multi-generational technical plan and planned product architectures. This leadership position leads their respective engineering module teams and works in concert with other Cooking COE leaders, architecture design director, electronics and software engineers, and program manager(s) along with the broader cross-functional program core team(s). This role is located in Louisville, KY.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own and drive multi-generational technical plan for all Electrical and Electronic modules to enable innovative, technically differentiated products

  • Lead Electrical and Electronics module team and module variant design and specifications; verify module variants meet product properties and goal values

  • Manage complete range of Electrical and Electronics module variants to use the same concept, to reuse parts and to avoid unnecessary part numbers

  • Ensure interfaces are standardized and able to remain the same over time

  • Work with a team engineers working within the Cooking microenterprise and across product platforms

  • Drive and support specific manufacturing and procurement strategies for the sites

  • Lead ongoing continuous improvement of Electrical and Electronics module cost, quality and complexity reduction

  • Coordinate activities across manufacturing sites

  • Support Craftsmanship efforts as needed

  • Support product line intellectual property landscape; understand competitor offerings

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

  • Experience managing multiple technical developments at the same time

  • Experience in designing, qualifying, and improving of electro-mechanical and electronic components and subsystems

  • Design leadership experience; demonstrated ability to mentor and grow a team

  • Capable of working within a matrixed, multi-site design team structure

  • Effective team building and project management ability with a highly collaborative style

  • Takes ownership and has ability to drive decisions

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines and with all levels of the organization

  • Reliability training/background; practitioner status desired but not required

  • Routine travel to manufacturing and design locations; expected to be monthly at a minimum

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in engineering

  • Demonstrated experience in product design

  • Experience in specifying requirements for and qualifying electrical and electronic components

  • Significant experience with Cooking product development

  • Proven track record of developing innovative technologies from concept to proof of feasibility

  • Familiarity with code board standards and regulatory requirements as they apply to cooking products
