Consumer Insights Specialist
The Consumer Insights Specialist will lead the consumer learning agenda for assigned brands and/or product lines. They will work collaboratively with Brand Marketing, Product Management, Industrial Design and others to develop brand and product strategy that is grounded in consumer understanding. This individual will report into the Sr. Director, Consumer & Market Insights.
What you will Do
Develop the consumer learning agenda to address business objectives
Collect, analyze and synthesize consumer learning to tell a cohesive and actionable story
Execute primary research, and source syndicated and marketplace data when relevant
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing strategic partnership with Brand Marketing, Product Management, Industrial Design, Sales, insights suppliers, agencies, and consultants
Demonstrate holistic thinking, strategic agility, and leadership within the team
Manage external suppliers to execute research projects efficiently
Effectively manage consumer insights budget to proactively address both immediate and forward-looking strategic needs
Communicate consumer insights in a clear and concise manner, both through written and verbal communication
What you need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant consumer insights experience, preferably on manufacturer-side or combination of supplier-side and manufacturer-side experience. Innovation and Durables industry experience a plus.
Knowledge of marketing and market research fundamentals including qualitative and quantitative research design, and statistics. Experience with – Consumer segmentation, profiling, and immersion; Concept/New Product Development and validation; Brand Positioning development and qualification; Market communication development and qualification
Must be able to develop and articulate an objective point-of-view
Has potential to be a strategic thought leader and collaborate with internal clients, agencies, and outside research suppliers.
Excellent planning and project management skills.
Must be willing and able to travel, approximately 15%.
Advanced degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field.

Strategic: Be a key strategic business partner to Brand Marketing and Product Management teams and a thought leader. Leverage their understanding of the consumer, research methodologies/techniques, best practices and experience to drive the business forward
