The Challenge

The Commercial Director-Water Heating will lead the go to market strategy in the contract, retail and other sales channels. The Commercial Director-Water Heating will work with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop and execute strategies to exceed customer and consumer expectations as well as win against the competition.

What you will Do

  • Lead the commercial efforts with Product Managers, Sales and Marketing to create strategies that deliver revenue growth objectives while achieving cash and EBIT targets

  • Work closely with Sales leadership to create growth plans for Water Heaters leading product line reviews with top customer partners and exceeding customer expectations.

  • Collaborate and work jointly with Marketing Operations Senior Manager for marketing and merchandising needs for Water Heating, including product packaging, training materials, catalogs and enriched online content

  • Develop and drive creative strategies to build consumer awareness during re-launch and increase sales through merchandising, promotions, distribution, and direct marketing.

  • Co-develop with Sales team leaders customers' lineups to grow sales and manage daily sales interface and issue resolution.

  • Own development of price plans across all channels recognizing product cost inflation/competitive positioning, tariffs and trade-offs.

  • Work closely with Finance and Pricing teams to evaluate impacts of pricing, promotion plans and inventory decisions

  • Partner with the Fulfillment and Sales team to accurately forecast inventory needed to meet the demand during all new product launches, promotion timing and day to day sales plans.

  • Work with Product Management and Technology teams to develop new product concepts/partnerships opportunities and commercialize new product introductions.

  • Manage the day to day work associated with the commercial needs for the product lines.

What you need to Succeed

What You Need to Succeed

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in areas of Sales, Marketing and/or Product Management in a business to consumer type role

  • Demonstrated customer focus/growth leadership traits

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must be willing and able to travel, as needed to GEA and Haier sites and customers

Nice to Haves

  • MBA

  • Previous Retail or Contract channel experience

  • Experience in major appliances and consumer packaged goods channel

  • Highly effective facilitation and presentation skills

  • Results oriented; ability to deliver on commitments and follow through

  • High level of self-motivation/initiative

  • A team player having the ability to influence and interact effectively with a multi-function business
