The Challenge

Role Summary/Purpose

Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new innovative gas & electric cooking products and features within the Cooking product line. This hands-on position requires creativity as well as technical competency to identify and develop unique engineering solutions to improve cost, quality and innovation.

What you will Do

  • Job Description Essential Responsibilities Work in a cross-functional team environment to identify and develop design concepts for consumer products. Create prototype models that incorporate new concepts to demonstrate feasibility. Design and execute evaluation plans to demonstrate design performance to required technical specifications and regulatory requirements. Supervise design of parts/assemblies to improve cost, quality and product performance. Utilize Six Sigma tools and Lean manufacturing principles in the development of new designs for assigned parts and assemblies. Oversee reliability and performance testing as per agency (UL/CSA/ANSI) and internal GEA requirements. Provide engineering solutions to issues resulting from initial prototype testing

  • Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Co-op/Intern experience or three (1-2) years design experience in consumer products or another comparable industry. Desired Characteristics
