The Challenge

This role is responsible for driving quality improvements for small appliances products. It leads efforts to proactively improve product performance by leading quality value stream during NPI program launches and positively impact Cost of Quality (COQ) with cross function team. Also, this role qualifies new suppliers for small appliances products and lead continuous improvement, development throughout the life-cycle of the supplier.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct product audit, process audit, system audit and supplier audit regularly. Proactively identify quality risks and issues and close the findings thru SCAR process.

  • Process and design expertise for finish good and critical components.

  • Review monthly results with supplier and develop improvement plan with follow-up activities

  • Lead Supplier Performance Management activities per escalation guidelines at non-performing suppliers.

  • Proactively work with suppliers to improve their existing processes and eliminate sources of potential quality issues.

  • Support to improve supplier’s capacity and delivery subject to product safety, quality and reliability.

  • Conduct Quality Survey and Close P&A items with technology and sourcing.

  • Implement SFG NPI Quality Value Stream – Focus on Key Quality Deliverables

  • Develop and approve MCP with Supplier include all critical processes

  • Complete Process Flow Diagram with CPC Steps Identified. Complete CLE Analysis

  • Conduct NPI build audits with Product Inspection checklist- PPR, PR, Production

  • Lead and support BPCRs involving supplier moves and process, material, and design changes.

  • Execute COQ projects identified by the PQMs to improve supplier processes.

  • Conduct verification/validation and improvement a field quality issues.

  • Provide support to close all open back orders and past due for service parts with supplier if the reason is related any quality issues.

  • Issue SCAR for a quality issue and review it by 8D process.

What you need to Succeed

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years minimum work experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Design or Operations.

  • Engineering degree (Bachelors minimum).

  • Demonstrated process development and problem solving through the creation and application of quality control tools (FMEA, control plan, process map, etc.)

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive change.

  • May require occasional travel domestically and internationally

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English

  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects concurrently within a team environment

  • Self-starter, takes the initiative to identify and implement new ideas.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop, manage and implement aggressive project plans both globally and domestically.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with OEM, Sourced Products, Small Appliances Products.

  • Lean Experience or Green Belt Certified.

  • Working knowledge of Supplier Quality systems and processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex information and concisely prepare executive summaries.

  • Experience working with SAS and Oracle based systems.

  • Multi lingual – English, Chinese or Spanish.

  • Good personality and proactive working attitude.
